The module focuses on specific contexts where the use of AI is subject to particular regulation. The use of AI in healthcare and well-being technologies is regulated in many ways. The module also covers the regulations related to the use of AI in marketing.
In addition, participants will learn about the legal risks and opportunities of using AI in recruitment.
Public authorities are subject to stricter rules than the private sector – including in the use of AI: when is the use of AI permitted, and when does it fall under administrative decision-making, which is governed by specific administrative law requirements?
BENEFITS AND OBJECTIVES
After completing the training, you will:
- Be familiar with the use of AI in several contexts
- Recognize sector-specific legal issues and regulatory frameworks based on your selected focus areas (at least two sectors):
- Understand the key regulatory framework for AI use in health and well-being
- Identify the main legal boundaries for AI use in marketing
- Recognize the key opportunities and risks of AI use in different stages of recruitment
- Understand the main limitations and risks of AI use in public administration
Upon successful completion, you will receive 1 ECTS credit from the Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki.
This training is part of the ”Responsible AI Powered Organization” competence module.
After completing the ”Basics of the AI Act” module, you will have the necessary skills to continue with more specialized AI modules.

Primarily, it is aimed at professionals from various fields who wish to develop their expertise in this area.
The main language of instruction is Finnish, but English-language materials will also be used.

The ”AI Regulation in Context” training consists of four online sessions:

• September 30, 15:00–16:00
It also includes self-study through an online learning platform with applied assignments.
The language of instruction is Finnish, and the webinars will be interpreted into English.
